The Food Experiment #5: Prosciutto Wrapped Chicken with Sage & Maple Bourbon Acorn Squash

The Food Experiment: An Angsty Black Woman on a Quest to fill her two teenage sons with some good home cookin' before they graduate high school and go running for the hills, never to eat a leaf of spinach again. Guess I'll throw in some desserts so they come back every once in a while. Cheers!

More squash. 

Last week was spaghetti squash. Now acorn. Both firsts for me to experiment with. Special, because my Mom used to make acorn squash all the time with some sort of brown sugar sauce that was yummy and made me forget it was a strange vegetable. So I tried it on Thing 1 and Thing 2.

Teen #1 said the squash tasted like a good mixture of french toast and candle fluid. Okaaaaayyyyy. Whatever, I'll take it.

Teen #2 said "It didn't meet my expectations taste wise. In other words, I didn't like it - at ALL."

I saw the ham wrapped chicken in a magazine, it looked fancy, I watched a YouTube video and decided to give it a try. Teenager #1 said "Meat in meat? I don't get it." Teen #2 said save the leftovers. A good sign.
