It's smart. The refrigerator, that is. It makes phone calls (really), beeps at you and flashes a message if you've left the door open (helpful with 2 teen boys), delivers AP News updates, shows you the Weather, plays music through Pandora, accesses recipes from Epicurious, has a screen option for you to make memo notes by writing with your finger, and more I can't even remember. But when SOMEONE I know starts looking up reviews on his phone while we're in the store, I know where this is going. Along with the detour of grabbing a wine & beverage chiller to go with it. Because If You Give A Pig A Pancake....I think I see where this is going....Literally.
But there's a LITTLE problem. The guy at the big box store told us that upon delivery, the installers won't touch it if you have copper pipes. Yeah, so SOMEONE has to get some replacement piping before this behemoth arrives.
BIGGER PROBLEM.
Current fridge = 67 5/8 inches. New fridge = 68 7/8 inches. Current Clearance = 68 inches.
Anybody guess the location of the next photo? If you guessed big box hardware store, DING DING DING. Apparently we need a ROUTER to try to saw off the bottom of the cabinet.
And apparently we found one.
Perhaps we better protect the freshly painted kitchen from the wave of sawdust that's about to appear?
I have to hand it to him. That was VERY OBNOXIOUSLY SQUEAKY AND LOUD. But Impressive. The cabinet no longer has a lower lip.
And in comes the Clean Up Crew. (Me)
Slide in the new beverage chiller with the blue glow, and the question that remains for now is: On Wednesday when the new fridge is delivered, will it fit? Angst rising.
